Out Now on DVD: Kick Ass

There is no other way to say this but Kick Ass kicked some serious ass! It has been a while since I’ve seen a movie that captivated my attention the entire length of the film. This movie has everything from nerds, mobsters, comics, action, sex, blood and yes a little girl with a very naughty...

Out Now~ The Kids Are Alright

The Kids Are Alright was a surprise for me. I really thought the film was about two teen aged kids of a lesbian couple finding the sperm donor that made them possible. It was SO MUCH MORE. It was dynamic, tackling family, love, lust, teen aged angst and parenting. I laughed, I cried, I felt...

Out Now~Toy Story 3

This movie is great fun for the kids and senitmentally sweet for the adults.  The story starts with the toys in limbo, either going to the attic or into the trash or even donated.  When they find themselves in a daycare center being tortured by toddlers it’s time for an escape.  Woody, Buzz, Jesse and...

Out Now: Hot Tub Time Machine

This is going to be short and sweet::SEE THIS! Everyone needs a good laugh and there are plenty in this goofy ass flick. Rob Croddry is so in it it’s ridiculous, he is fearless, hysterical and gross as Lou. Clark Duke as Jacob is more the subtle comedian just as funny though. John Cusack does...

Out On DVD: Black Dynamite by our Guest Blogger~Curtis Schmidt

Black Dynamite tells the story of one bad-ass mutha, with a brutha. Brutha got shot, and that begins our plot. Now he’s got one task, and that’s to kick lot’s of ass. And boy does he ever. Brilliantly directed by Scott Sanders. The film doesn’t parody like “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” , but instead...

Out Now: Greenberg

Greenberg is a bummer but in a good way. I’m knocking on 40′s door and so there was much to relate to here. Ben Stiller is great, totally believable as this narcissitic fragile jerk, Roger Greenberg. Greenberg is back in L.A after living in New York for 15 years and doing a brief stint in...

Out Now on DVD – Whip It

This is going to be short since this movie was basically one big cute fest. Drew Barrymore did a great job directing this little chick flick. She stuck to being who she is (cute has made her millions obviously). Ellen Page did great. Vulnerable, bored, teen with an itch to get out of her little...

Out Now: It’s Complicated

Meryl Streep does an excellent job as usual in this romantic comedy/romp.  She is sincere, modest and funny.  Alec Baldwin as Jake, Jane’s (Streep) ex husband is hysterical.  Too bad there was not enough to keep the film from getting ridiculously schmaltzy.  Nancy Meyers wrote and directed It’s Complicated and the premise is pretty good....
